Woman killed in domestic dispute at KZN Irish restaurant to be laid to rest tomorrow

Loved ones say Taryn le Roux’s laughter, warmth and generosity touched all who knew her.

Taryn le Roux, a 48-year-old woman who was shot dead, allegedly by her husband at a pub in Westville, will be laid to rest tomorrow.

Highway Mail reports that the funeral service will be held at Harvest Church Umhlanga at 1 Wincanton Way.

It is alleged that Le Roux (48) and her husband (63) had an argument before he pulled out a gun and shot her at Waxy O’Connors, an Irish restaurant, on September 15.

Westville SAPS communications officer Captain Elizabeth Squires says the shooting followed a domestic matter between Le Roux and her husband. The husband was arrested shortly after the incident at the pub, and a case of murder was opened.

Her friend Michelle Hancock, who is still in disbelief, described her friend of 19 years as a beautiful person on the inside and outside.

“She would turn heads wherever she went with her personality; she just attracted people to her, and she had the most amazing laugh. She would always go out of her way to help a person.

“She lived life to the fullest. She always had a smile on her face, always looked for the good in a person, never had a bad word to say about anyone,” says Handcock, adding that she will miss her friendship, visits, long chats and everything about her.

The husband is currently remanded at Westville prison and is expected to make his second appearance in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, October 1.
