Woman’s battered body found in Limpopo: Boyfriend arrested

A man was arrested and is due to appear in court after his girlfriend’s body was found on a street in Ga-Chokoe village.

A 55-year-old man, who has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend (34), is expected to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo tomorrow.

Polokwane Review reports that his girlfriend’s battered body, with multiple injuries, was found on a street in Moletjie in Ga-Chokoe village, early on Sunday morning.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says officers were alerted just after 02:30 and rushed to the scene.

“The woman was certified dead on arrival, and a murder case was opened.”

A manhunt was launched for the woman’s boyfriend, who was identified as the prime suspect, and he was arrested yesterday morning in Ga-Mphela village, says Ledwaba.

The suspect remains in custody and will appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
