The automotive world had been abuzz with excitement as a rare Audi RS 6 Avant GT had gone up for auction.
With only 660 units produced globally, this exceptional vehicle is a coveted prize for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The RS 6 Avant GT represents the pinnacle of Audi’s performance and luxury. This high-performance estate car seamlessly blends breathtaking speed, practicality, and opulent interior.
“The RS 6 Avant GT is an iconic vehicle that embodies the soul of Audi,” said Sascha Sauer, the head of Audi South Africa. “This car showcases meticulous craftsmanship and a design inspired by the legendary 1989 Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO race car, telling a story of rich heritage and engineering prowess.”

Giving back to the community
A portion of the auction’s proceeds was donated to the Kutlwanong Centre for Maths, Science and Technology. This non-profit organisation is dedicated to empowering South African youth, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, by providing quality education in mathematics and science.
“Our support for Kutlwanong aligns perfectly with Audi’s commitment to progress,” added Sauer. “By investing in the next generation of inventors, scientists and engineers, we ensure that the legacy of innovation continues.”
Tumelo Mabitsela, the CEO of Kutlwanong, expressed gratitude for Audi South Africa’s generous donation. “The funds we’ve received will go toward further supporting our work to assist students to pursue STEM careers. This will ensure that South African youth participate in and are equipped for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
