Fiat Topolino: A tiny car, a big win

This pint-sized electric wonder has captured hearts and an international award.

The Fiat Topolino has made waves in the automotive world, clinching the prestigious “Best New Design 2024” title in the minicars category at the Autonis Awards. Readers of auto motor und sport, a leading German automotive magazine, voted overwhelmingly for this electric quadricycle, recognising its blend of sustainable urban mobility and iconic Italian style. With 37.1% of the vote, the Topolino proved to be a favourite among readers, solidifying the enduring allure of Italian design.

Designed with young drivers in mind, the Fiat Topolino offers a fresh perspective on urban mobility. As a light electric vehicle (LEV), it’s road-legal for new drivers in many countries, including the UK, from the age of 16. With a 45km/h top speed, it’s perfectly suited for city driving.

The name “Topolino,” meaning “little mouse” in Italian, pays homage to the original Fiat 500 Topolino, a beloved classic from 1936 to 1955. The new Topolino revives the iconic name and infuses it with modern electric technology and innovative design, making it a symbol of sustainable mobility for a new generation.

Navigating city streets is a breeze with the Topolino’s tight turning radius and automatic transmission. Powered by a 6kW electric motor, it offers a range of up to 75km on a single charge. Its 5.4kWh battery can be fully recharged in approximately four hours using a standard household socket.

With the Autonis Award win, Fiat reaffirms its position as a pioneer of accessible, eco-friendly urban vehicles and celebrates a new chapter in the history of Italian automotive design.
