Ulterio Motiv, a South African company, has unveiled a six-wheel conversion for the popular Ford Ranger.

This unique modification allows the Ranger to tackle extreme terrains and carry heavier loads while maintaining its comfort and luxury. The conversion involves adding a non-driven third axle to the rear, increasing the vehicle’s payload capacity to over 2 000kg.

Key features of the Ford Ranger 6×6:

• Increased payload: The 6×6 conversion significantly boosts the Ranger’s payload capacity.

• Enhanced off-road capability: The additional axle provides improved traction and stability, making it ideal for challenging terrains.

• Preserved comfort and luxury: The conversion retains the Ranger’s comfortable interior and advanced features.

• Customisable: The 6×6 chassis can be customised with various body styles, including load bins and canopies.

Technical details:

• Extended chassis: The chassis is extended to accommodate the third axle.

• Bogie suspension: The rear suspension system ensures optimal weight distribution and improved traction.

• Upgraded braking system: A disc brake system is added to the third axle for enhanced braking performance.

Pricing and availability:

The 6×6 conversion is priced at R265 000 (excluding VAT) and requires a six-week build time. The conversion can be applied to any current-generation Ford Ranger 4×4 model.
