Volkswagen Tiguan gains 2 new engine options
Volkswagen has expanded its new Tiguan line-up with the addition of two new engine options, giving buyers more choice in the popular SUV. Here’s all you need to know.
Volkswagen has now expanded the Tiguan range with two new engine options: A 2.0-litre TDI producing 110kW and a 2.0-litre TSI delivering 140kW. Both powertrains are paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive.

The 2.0-litre TDI engine generates 340Nm of torque between 1 750 and 3 000r/min, and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 9.4s, before reaching a top speed of 207km/h. The 2.0-litre TSI engine delivers 350Nm of torque from 1 500 to 4 400r/min, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 6.5s and hit a top speed of 225km/h.

The new engines are available with Life and R-Line levels of specification. The Tiguan Life comes with a 10-colour ambient lighting array, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, replete paddle shifters, and height-adjustable front seats, upholstered in fabric. It also features black roof rails, body-coloured bumpers and black trim strips along the side windows. Life spec further includes 17-inch Bari alloy wheels.
The Tiguan R-Line upgrades to 30-colour ambient lighting and a heated, leather-wrapped multifunction sports steering wheel. The exterior gains a more pronounced front bumper, gloss black trim for the air intakes, silver anodised roof rails and chrome trim strips, and 19-inch Coventry alloy wheels. Inside, R-Line trim features Varenna leather ErgoActive massage seats.
