Volkswagen expands Tiguan line-up with new engines

Volkswagen has introduced two new engines: a 2.0 TDI 4Motion with 110kW and a 2.0 TSI 4Motion with 140kW. Both are paired with a seven-speed DSG transmission.
Since its UK launch in August 2024, the new Tiguan has proven popular with strong sales figures. It has also been recognised by motoring journalists, becoming a finalist in the prestigious 2025 Old Mutual Car of the Year competition. The winner will be announced in May.
These new engines are available in both Life and R-Line trim levels
The Tiguan Life offers a comprehensive specification, including 10-colour ambient lighting in the dashboard and doors, a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with shift paddles, height-adjustable front seats, safety-optimised front head restraints, illuminated mouldings, black roof rails, body-coloured bumpers, black trim strips on the side windows, fabric seat upholstery with Life pattern inserts and 17-inch Bari alloy wheels.
The Tiguan R-Line adds a sportier edge with sports comfort front seats, 30-colour ambient lighting, illuminated decorative inserts, a leather-wrapped, heated multi-function sports steering wheel with shift paddles, sports-style bumpers, a glossy black air intake, silver anodised roof rails, chrome trim strips on the side windows, Varenna leather ErgoActive massage seats, and 19-inch Coventry alloy wheels.

Engine performance
The Tiguan 2.0 TDI 4Motion offers 110kW and 340Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 9.4-s and has a top speed of 207km/h.
The Tiguan 2.0 TSI 4Motion boasts 140kW and 350Nm. It achieves 0-100km/h in 6.5-s and a top speed of 225 km/h.
Pricing and ownership
Pricing starts at R664 500 and includes a three-year/120 000km warranty, a five-year/90 000km EasyDrive Service Plan, and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty. The service interval is 15 000km.
