The Suzuki Swift has solidified its position as South Africa’s leading budget car, clinching the prestigious Best Budget Car title at the 2025 Cars.co.za Consumer Awards, sponsored by Absa.

This accolade, recognising the finest new vehicles under R300 000, highlights the Swift’s exceptional value and comprehensive features, a message that will resonate with buyers seeking affordable, reliable vehicles.

The Swift 1.2 GLX triumphed over fierce competition. This marks Suzuki’s seventh win in this category and the Swift’s fifth, underscoring its consistent excellence.

As South Africa’s top-selling passenger vehicle in January, with 2 628 units sold according to naamsa, the fourth-generation Swift appeals to a broad audience. Its stylish AB-segment hatchback design, enjoyable driving experience, and cost-effective running costs, combined with advanced technology, make it a compelling choice.

Priced from R264 900, the award-winning 1.2 GLX model is packed with premium features, including automatic LED projector headlamps, keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control, automatic climate control, and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel. A nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rearview camera, and Suzuki’s vehicle alerts system further enhance the driving experience.

Safety remains a priority, with all Swift models featuring six airbags, ABS brakes with EBD, brake assist function, electronic stability programme, and rear ISOFIX anchors.
