Suzuki South Africa celebrates a record-breaking financial year, marking its 16th year of local success with impressive sales figures.

Suzuki Auto South Africa has reported another strong sales month, concluding a record-breaking 16th financial year since commencing operations in 2008.

According to the naamsa’s (National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa) data, Suzuki sold 5 284 new passenger vehicles in March 2025 (4 733 dealer sales and 551 fleet/rental/government sales), securing its position as South Africa’s second best-selling car brand for the third consecutive month.

The top-selling models were the new fourth-generation Swift (1 608 units), the Fronx crossover SUV (1 052 units), and the Ertiga seven-seater (749 units).

This strong March performance capped a record financial year (2024/25) with total sales reaching 62 750 vehicles, surpassing the previous year’s 51 969 units by 10 781. This figure includes sales in Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

Henno Havenga, the GM Auto Sales and Marketing, noted the ‘humbling start to 2025’, with January seeing record dealer, fleet and Swift sales. He confirmed a 20.75% year-on-year sales growth, highlighting South African motorists’ preference for quality, affordable vehicles despite economic pressures.

Havenga remains optimistic about leveraging their sales momentum, thanking the team for an exceptional year.
