Hoonigan’s latest video shows Travis Pastrana going all out for his final Gymkhana film in a heavily modified 1978 Subaru Brat – dubbed the Subaru Brataroo 9500 Turbo — in Australia. Modelled on the original Gymkhana series created in collaboration with the late Ken Block, the video sees Pastrana performing daring stunts on a track, in the desert, Sydney’s harbour, and Bathurst’s Mount Panorama, among other locales; pushing the purpose-built Subaru to its limits.

Among other stunts, in the video, Pastrana jumps and drifts the tyre-shredding, all-wheel-drive Gymkhana weapon, which is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing a staggering 500kW and 922Nm of torque, with the redline sitting at a howling 9 500r/min.

After a dizzying doughnut and a drift on the edge of a dock, the video concludes back at the Outback building featured in the opening scene, where Pastrana drives the Brataroo 9500 Turbo one last time, before parking it and riding off on a motocross bike; ending his final Gymkhana in true Pastrana style.

“The Brataroo is hands down the craziest Gymkhana car we’ve ever built,” said Pastrana. “Every part of this car was designed to take the abuse we threw at it while making this film. From hanging two tyres off a pier to flying 160 feet (around 49 metres) across a 10-story deep canyon gap over a road train. Skimming across a deep lake and scaring myself every step of the way.”
