The recent Broadway production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, starring Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad, will be screened at select Nu Metro cinemas nationwide on 13, 14 and 15 February 2015.
Filmed live on Broadway and starring the British actor Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean; Lord of the Rings) and two-time Tony Award nominee Condola Rashad, this dazzling new Romeo and Juliet is a modern take on one of Shakespeare’s best-loved plays.
Staged on Broadway for the first time in 36 years, director David Leveaux brings a dynamic energy and contemporary setting to his interpretation of this eternally tragic tale of star-crossed lovers.
Last year marked the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth, setting the stage for one of Broadway’s most exciting productions to date of Romeo and Juliet. It appeals strongly to both the regular theatre-goer and those coming to experience Shakespeare for the very first time.
