South African Book Fair and the M&G Literary Festival 2015

The world would be a better place if we all had the opportunity to read more. That is the belief and the driving force behind the South African Book Fair.

The South African Book Fair is being held in Johannebsurg for the first time and has joined forces with the M&G Literary Festival, which is being held during the fair.

Robertson Wine Valley Gauteng Festival

Visitors to the festival will be able to meet the personalities behind their favourite brands, sample a plethora of wines and purchase them at excellent prices.

There will be fun and entertainment for the whole family. Tutored tastings presented by the Cape Wine Academy will be on offered twice per day.  There will be no charge for these tastings however patrons are strongly advised to book their seats on arrival at the festival venue in order to avoid disappointment.

Visitors who would prefer not to drive to the festival, can take the Gautrain to Hatfield station.  At Hatfield there will be a dedicated shuttle service to Kievits Kroon from 09h00, which will run on the hour, every hour, until 16h00.

The return transfer from Kievits Kroon will start at 09h30, with the final departure at 17h30. Return tickets are R 60 and can only be purchased online.

Cars in The Park 2015

The pride of South Africa’s national antique, veteran and vintage car and motorcycle collection will be on show at the Pretoria Old Motor Club’s (POMC) 36th annual Cars in the Park exhibition.

A number of popular cars from 1950 to 1980 as well as muscle cars will also be displayed.

This is the biggest event of its kind in Africa.

Collectors from more than a hundred motor clubs across South Africa will display more than two thousand vehicles.

The exhibition takes place at the Zwartkops International World of Motoring in Pretoria and will feature, among others, a special display of rare vintage cars and some of the world’s most sought after collector’s cars.

Entrance will be R100 per person.

Te danke aan die gewildheid van die eerste treffer “Hande,” het “Uitklophou,” Karlien se splinternuwe CD reeds goue status in verkope bereik. En dit binne die eerste twee weke na uitreiking.

Sedert die premiere van die musiekvideo op Top Billing aan die einde van Julie, het dit reeds meer as 22 000 trefslae op youtube gehad. En mense is aan die praat oor hierdie ongelooflike liedjie wat handel oor die eenvoud van ‘n verhouding. Jy hoef nie groot goed te doen of geld te hê nie – dit gaan net oor daardie manier wat jy aan iemand vat.

Met liedjies uit die pen van Karlien self, asook Johan Vorster en Christoph Kotze, kan bewonderaars verder uitsien na die duet met haar broer Bobby, “Toe ons jonk was,” en die 2013 Eurovision liedjie en titel van die album, “Uitklophou” saam met Eden.
