GLORY GAME: The Joost van der Westhuizen Story

Don't miss a chance to watch this movie about the interesting life of Joost van der Westhuizen.

This stunning adaptation of one of South Africa’s biggest sport legends, is now showing at Nu Metro Menlyn Park in Pretoria.

This touching, often heart-wrenching documentary-feature is a must-see for everyone. The film’s strong human drama-focus is definitely not just aimed at sport fans, as it presents an inspirational story of hope and believing in triumph against all odds.

South African rugby hero Joost van der Westhuizen was diagnosed with motor neuron disease, a crippling illness that attacks the central nervous system — causing disability and death. But, where others might struggle to accept their lot, van der Westhuizen has tackled it with dignity and humour. In his battle against the disease, he fought for his life, and for the future of his fellow sufferers, and rediscovered his humanity.

More than a team player, Joost has become Man of the Match. This film, directed by Odette Schwegler, tells his story.
