Sick dog taken from owners and put down

The owners were still trying to get money to buy food for the animal and take it to the vet.

A dog was recently taken from its owners and put down after Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) workers noticed people walking with a dog that was in a terrible condition along Helpmekaar Road in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal.

Annamarie Koen of the AACL stopped and asked the people where they were taking the dog. They said they were trying to get money to buy food for the animal and take it to the vet.

A saddened Annamarie took the dog and immediately took it to the vet.

The dog refused to eat.

Unfortunately, the poor animal had to be put down due to the poor state of health it was in.
