West Rand protest causes chaos

The protest affected motorists travelling on Albertina Sisulu and Commando roads.

A bus-shed was torched this morning.

Commuters were faced with chaos and delays on the morning of August 28 due to a taxi protest on the West Rand, Roodepoort Record reports.

Taxis blocked the on- and off-ramps at the Maraisburg bridge. This affected motorists travelling on Albertina Sisulu and Commando roads.

At about 9am, the protest was still ongoing. Metro police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar advised motorists to use alternative routes.
