Dr Pashy’s attorney told The Citizen that several charges have been laid against Thabo Bester and Nandipha Magudumana

Celebrity doctor Mmereka Patience Martha Ntshani, popularly known as Dr Pashy, has confirmed to The Citizen that she has opened a case against convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester and his girlfriend Dr Nandipha Magudumana.

Dr Pashy opened a case of fraud against the couple at the Sandton police station on Thursday, 20 April 2023.

Police said the case was transferred to Sinoville police station for further investigation.

Charges

Dr Pashy’s attorney Sentebale Makara told The Citizen that several charges have been laid against Bester and Magudumana.

“On Thursday the 20th of April 2023, Dr Pashy opened a case at the Sandton Police Station for crimes perpetrated against by TK Nkwana also known as Thabo Bester and Dr Nandipha Magudumana.

“This is for investigations of crimes committed against her of fraud, forgery, theft and uttering. This is a criminal complaint, it is all going for investigation,” Makara said.

Dr Pashy passports

Earlier this month, The Citizen revealed that Magudumana was found in possession of two original passports in the name of Dr Pashy during her arrest.

According to a Tanzanian source, the travel documents were found in Dr Nandipha’s luggage when they were arrested approximately 10km from the Kenyan border.

“The one passport expired in 2022 and the other passport is expiring in 2029. Both were issued to Dr Pashy. They are authentic South African issued passports.”

Magadumana and Dr Pashy

The Citizen also revealed that Magudumana knew Dr Mmereka Patience Martha Ntshani, the name she assumed when she was arrested.

In October 2020, Ntshani, founder of the Dr Pashy Foundation, hosted the Dr Pashy Foundation and Power Woman Inc Present Power Women Talk Dinner at the Houghton Hotel in Houghton Estate.

The event brought together Dr Pashy, Magudumana, and multi-award-winning film producer and actress Terry Pheto to raise money for disadvantaged children’s education.

Arrest and extradition

Bester and Magadumana were arrested in Arusha Tanzania, just 10km from the Kenyan border with several passports – with multiple identities – in their possession after being nine months on the run.

The duo arrived back in South Africa on Thursday 13 April after a delegation consisting of the Department of Justice and police officials departed for the East African country to bring the fugitives back to face trial for the crimes they committed.

Escape

Bester escaped from the Mangaung Correctional Centre (MCC) in Bloemfontein in May 2022 after it was initially believed he had committed suicide by setting himself alight in his cell.
