Heavy PSL presence in Namibia’s Cosafa squad

Holders Namibia have named a strong squad to compete at the 2016 Cosafa Castle Cup that they will host in Windhoek from June 11-25.

Coach Ricardo Mannetti has had to do without some of his top names, such as the University of Pretoria duo of Willem Mwedihanga and Ronald Ketjijere, but for the most part has a near full-strength squad to select from.

The AmaTuks duo are competing in South Africa’s Promotion/Relegation Playoffs.

Top names who will be there include the likes of Deon Hotto and Benson Shilongo, who excelled in helping the Brave Warriors to the title in 2015, and last year’s Player of the Tournament, Wangu Gome.

Namibia open their campaign with a tough quarterfinal against Botswana on June 18 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.

Namibia squad:

Goalkeepers: Virgil Vries, Maximillian Mbaeva, David Petersen
Defenders: Denzil Haoseb, Dacosta Angula, Chris Katjiukua, Larry Horaeb, Ferdinand Karongee, Tiberius Lombard, Ananias Gebhardt, Edmund Kambanda
Midfielders: Deon Hotto, Hendrik Somaeb, Dynamo Fredericks, Oswaldo Xamseb, Wangu Gome
Strikers: Absalom Limbondi, Terdius Uiseb, Willy Stephanus, Roger Katjiteo, Benson Shilongo, Peter Shalilule
