KZN man drowns in fishing tragedy at Inanda Dam

A man has drowned at the Inanda Dam in KwaZulu-Natal after the canoe he was fishing in overturned.

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the canoe was allegedly overturned after it struck the wake of a passing boat on Saturday.

The victim was seen struggling before he disappeared under the water.

Another person at the dam tried to rescue the man, but was unsuccessful.

Rusa was called just after noon and found police and search & rescue officials on the scene, launching an inflatable boat to search for the man’s body.

Police and search & rescue teams are yet to confirm if the man’s body has been found. Any update will be included once received.
