Last chance to win a Canon camera

It's almost time for Gameweek 7 in the Fantasy Premier League, the final weekend of the Phakaaathi Private Fantasy Premier League's competition for September, in which you could win a Canon Powershot SX730 HS camera, valued at R4 999.

The current leader for September is Mohamed Mansour and his Balla Chutney FC, who lead Axel Collins’ Barney’s clan by just four points this month. Remember, you can still join our league by following the rules in the advert at the bottom of the page.

In the meantime, Emmett McConnell runs the rule over some players that might be a good idea to add to your FPL squad ahead of this weekend’s action.

Manchester City have scored the most in the league so far (19), and face a Brighton side that struggles defensively (11 goals against). Having City assets is a smart bet, especially after steamrolling Cardiff City on the road last week. The biggest headache surrounding City choices is Pep Guardiola’s uncertain rotation.

It seems that Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero are the most likely to start on a consistent basis. The attacking potential from the Chelsea v Liverpool match provides a different headache for FPL managers. Both teams are stout defensively, but with the talent of each attack, anything less than 1-1 would be surprising.

Owners of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson or Marcos Alonso should plan to start their defenders, however. Their assist potential is too high to risk wasting them on the bench. Alonso ranks 20th in total shots this season with 13 and is tied with Alexander-Arnold on one goal.

A porous Huddersfield Town defence could leak more goals to Tottenham Hotspur, who have struggled to get consistent output from their attackers. Heung-Min Son (£8.3 million) was rested midweek, while Lucas Moura (7.4) played but was subbed after 69 minutes. Both could start and provide a good budget option into an attack that has massive, but untapped potential.

The defence is also long overdue for a clean sheet. Huddersfield have scored just three goals in six games, which benefits probable starters Kieran Trippier, Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld.

Neither Everton nor Fulham have kept clean sheets this season – Everton average 1.83 goals against while Fulham average 2.16 goals against – as all signs point to a goal-fest.

Avoid defenders on either team, but instead load up on attackers. Aleksandar Mitrovic (7.0) and Richarlison (6.6) are the popular options from either team, while Luciano Vietto (5.5) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (5.4) should start in forward positions.
