Mabuza embarks on drive to get Mogale City residents vaccinated
During his visit, the deputy president will be joined by Gauteng Premier David Makhura and several government officials.

Deputy President David Mabuza on Thursday morning is expected to take part in an outreach programme west of Johannesburg in Mogale City, West Rand, in a bid to encourage more South Africans to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
As part of his visit, the deputy president will engage in door-to-door community mobilisation and visit a number of pop-up sites to ramp up the vaccination roll-out programme.

The Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on Covid-19 Vaccines, which is chaired by Mabuza, identified Gauteng as part of three provinces falling short of their set targets to reach population immunity.
The West Rand is the lowest-performing sub-district, with only 8% of the total population vaccinated.
Mabuza will kick off the IMC’s outreach programme at 9am at a pop-up vaccination site in Kagiso Mall. He will also visit another pop-up site at Kagiso Taxi Rank at 10am.
During his visit, the deputy president will be joined by Gauteng Premier David Makhura, Cabinet ministers and several local officials.
Different members of the IMC will also be deployed to different areas of the West Rand District Municipality.
More than 12 million people in the country have received their Covid jabs as government ramps up its efforts to get 70% of the adult population vaccinated.
