Man shot dead, girlfriend raped in Centurion home invasion
Police are appealing to the residents to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the gunmen.
A man was shot and killed while his girlfriend was raped in the Mooiplaas informal settlement near Centurion on Monday, according to the Centurion Rekord.
Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said the crimes happened at about 1am.
“It is alleged that the victim and his female partner were attacked inside their shack and the man was shot and killed. The woman was allegedly raped in the nearby bushes,” he said.
Moloto said the suspects then ran away.
“Erasmia SAPS management is appealing to the residents of Mooiplaas to assist with information which could lead to the arrest of the gunmen,” he said
The motive behind the killing was unclear at this stage, Moloto said.
Cases of rape and murder were being investigated.
