EFF ‘ready to work’ with ANC, only if Zuma gets arrested for corruption – Malema

What stands between the EFF and the ANC is institutionalised corruption by the ruling party, according to the firebrand leader.

Should the African National Congress fail to amass a majority in the upcoming 2019 general elections, EFF leader Julius Malema says his party would consider forming a coalition with the governing party – only if President Jacob Zuma gets arrested for corruption.

Malema says the ANC’s next leader should come out publicly and announce before the polls. “I will arrest Zuma for corruption.”

“EFF will work with the ANC whose leader will pronounce before 2019 that he will arrest Zuma for corruption, for wrong things he has done while in office,” he said.

Malema was speaking to the Sowetan in a wide-ranging interview ahead of his party’s fourth anniversary this Wednesday, which was formed by the former ANC Youth League president in July 2013 after he was expelled from the ANC for sowing divisions within the party in 2012.

The firebrand leader said what stood between the EFF and the ANC was institutionalised corruption by the ruling party, adding that Zuma had damaged the ANC brand.
