In another dreaded statement on Sunday, power utility Eskom confirmed that heavy load shedding will continue on Monday, with Stage 4 kicking off from 9am and ending at 11pm.
Stage 2 will be in force from 11pm tonight until then.
Currently, Stage 4 has been in place due to a severe shortage of generating capacity. It means 4,000MW are cut from the power network in rolling blackouts.
They asked people not to be “alarmed”, and that they were controlling the problem and working hard to restore the system beyond its current 80% ability to meet demand.
