Truck overturns in front of Bloemfontein school
Eyewitnesses said the truck overturned when the driver tried to take the slipway out of a primary school.
The driver of a cement truck and his passenger had a close encounter with death this morning when the truck they were travelling in overturned in front of Brebner Primary School on the corner of Deale and Olympus Roads in Pentagon Park, Bloemfontein, reports Bloemfontein Courant.
According to eyewitnesses on the scene, the truck overturned when the driver tried to take the slipway out of Brebner Primary School. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and the truck fortunately didn’t lose its load.

The driver was taken to hospital by ER24 with broken ribs and a broken arm. When Bloemfontein Courant arrived on the scene, paramedics were still treating the driver. The passenger escaped with no injuries.
A towing company had also started an attempt to lift the vehicle back on its wheels to be towed away.
