Woman crushed to death by truck at dump site in Ladysmith
The truck was reversing, and in her attempt to get out of the way, the lady tripped over her bag and fell.
A woman was crushed to death yesterday, May 21, at a dump site in Acaciavale, Ladysmith, reports Ladysmith Gazette.
It is believed that the woman was going through the rubbish at the dump yard when a truck approached the area she was in.

The truck was reversing, and in her attempt to get out of the way, the lady tripped over her bag and fell.

The truck went over her, crushing the woman to death. Screams were heard from other people at the dump site as they tried to get the driver’s attention and tell him to stop, as the lady was under the truck.
The woman was believed to be about 34 years of age.
Public Safety, police and emergency personnel responded to the scene.
A large crowd of onlookers gathered at the spot where the woman was killed in the freak accident.
She was declared dead at the scene.
