The Randburg Driver’s Licence Testing Centre has issued a notice that it will no longer be accepting walk-in bookings, reports Randburg Sun.
Customers who would like to renew their driver’s and learner’s licences or professional driver’s permit will have to make a booking online before going to the testing centre.

Ward 102 councillor David Potter said, “Currently, the queue accepts walk-ins until 10am, but the idea is for that to be eliminated from 15 October.
“I was at Randburg Driver’s Licence Testing Centre earlier this week and the new booking system has dramatically improved the queue management and control and service delivery.
As with any new system, there will be resistance and issues to iron out. The management of the centre is managing as best they can under the direction of the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC).”
Potter has also raised concerns as to how the process will manage the elderly and infirm, which he cannot confirm at this present time.
He added, “What’s important to note is that the City provides the service on behalf of the Road Traffic Management Corporation, a government department. It is RTMC equipment, like the testing desks, computers, printers, network system and other processes. The City only supplies staff and management coordination under the guidance of the RTMC. It’s all new and teething problems will be experienced.”
According to Potter, the RTMC has committed to installing kiosks in the future where people can book their slot.
The Randburg Sun is awaiting further comment from the Randburg Driver’s Licence Testing Centre’s management.
