Carl Niehaus ready to start campaigning for ANC after his membership is reinstated
The suspension of Niehaus's party membership lapsed as he was not charged within 30 days of his suspension.

Carl Niehaus says he will start campaigning for the ANC ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
This comes after the spokesperson of the now disbanded uMkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans’ Association (MKMVA) said his suspension from the ANC had lapsed.
Niehaus said he had been informed by the ANC’s acting secretary-general Jessie Duarte that his suspension has lapsed since the party failed to bring charges against him.
The suspension of Niehaus’s party membership lapsed as he was not charged within 30 days of his suspension.

Niehaus said he will jump straight back into the action and start campaigning for the ANC.
“This weekend I will campaigning for the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal. I’ve never had any problem to campaign for the #ANC, which I love & dedicated my whole adult life to,” he tweeted.
He added that his “beef has always been with the [ANC’s] top leadership that compromise our revolutionary ideals”.
Niehaus had his ANC membership suspended in July, after defying the national executive committee’s (NEC’s) decision to disband the MKMVA. Shortly afterwards he was accused of bringing the party into disrepute when he addressed the crowd outside Nkandla before former president Jacob Zuma was incarcerated.
Although his ANC membership has been reinstated, Niehaus says he still plans to fight his dismissal from Luthuli House.

He was fired as an ANC employee after he informed the public of his intent to lay criminal charges of theft, fraud, corruption, and various statutory charges against the top brass of the ANC and the ANC itself.
At the time, the ANC said his actions were “deliberate acts of misconduct and malice which are intended to tarnish the image of your employer and bring your employer into disrepute”.
Niehaus laid charges against the party due to the non-payment of salaries to ANC employees. The charges laid by Niehaus included the contravention of pay-as-you-earn regulations, Unemployment Insurance Fund rules, the Pension Fund Act and the Tax Administration Act.
