WATCH: ‘Delinquent’ Ramaphosa will not finish his second term – Malema

Malema accused Ramaphosa of not caring about South Africans and promised to fight him until he resigns.

EFF leader Julius Malema vowed to make President Cyril Ramaphosa’s life miserable ahead of the national elections in 2024.

He called Ramaphosa a “delinquent president” and said the EFF will ensure Ramaphosa doesn’t finish his second term as ANC president.

Malema was speaking on Monday, after Ramaphosa was re-elected as leader of the ANC in Nasrec, Johannesburg.

Malema promises to fight Ramaphosa

“He must know that his victory means nothing, we will beat him until he bruises. We are going to dance with him. Whether he likes it or not, he will not finish his second term.

“We are going to fight him until he resigns – because how can you sleep on dollar matresses while our people don’t even have water,” Malema said, referencing the scandal around the president’s Phala Phala farm.

Malema also accused Ramaphosa – and the ANC – of not improving the lives of many South Africans.

He said there are many squatter camps near Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm.

“How many people’s lives can he change by just putting water in those squatter camps?”

EFF in Limpopo gets new leadership

Malema was speaking at the EFF’s third provincial people’s assembly in Seshego, Polokwane, on Monday.

The EFF in Limpopo elected new leadership in the province after party structures were dissolved when it lost support in the 2021 local government elections.

Tshilidzi Anikie Maraga was elected Chairperson of the EFF in Limpopo, with Rassy Maepa as the deputy.

Malema, however, warned the new leaders that they had to build support in Limpopo.

“The biggest responsibility on their shoulders is to ensure they don’t decline our votes in 2024 because these guys, we disbanded them because they made us lose 24 sets. People who left the disbanding here killed our organisation and it lost 24 seats,” he said.

‘ANC’s klap hits us harder’

Malema even said the ANC has hurt South African more than the “whites” did under apartheid.

“Whites don’t know us, and when they don’t know us it does hurt as much as when it is done by people who know us,” he said.

“The ANC should have known our pain much better than the whites.”

“That’s why we say they are worse… their klap hits us harder.”

Malema said it is for this reason that the ANC needs to be voted out of power at the next national elections.

“We need to go and fight this ANC; we must make sure this ANC doesn’t win in 2024.”
