The violence at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, when angry Kaizer Chiefs fans stormed the pitch and viciously assaulted security staff, has prompted yet another racist Facebook post.
Fans stormed the pitch after Chiefs suffered a 2-0 loss to Free State Stars.
The Mercury reports that actor Rajesh Gopie posted on the social media platform: “Yah, and the Baboons like soccer too much so they want to play with human heads.” However, Gopie has since deleted the post.
The Durban-based publication further reported that when Gopie was contacted for comment, he said he would remove the post, which he did, but he later nevertheless shared images of the violence at the stadium with the caption: “Yah! I rest my case!”
A security guard was severely beaten during the riots at the stadium.

Kaizer Chiefs chairperson Kaizer Motaung has since issued a statement condemning the violence at Moses Mabhida.
Gopie’s post comes as the Sunday World reported that convicted racist Vicki Momberg continues to ‘abuse’ black officials, even in jail.
Momberg was convicted to three years’ imprisonment, with one year suspended for a racist tirade in 2016 that was directed at a black police officer.
She was also ordered by the Equality Court to pay R100 000 to the officer.
Last week she was denied leave to appeal her sentence.
