UPDATE: Kloof Nek fire reportedly contained

By Citizen Reporter

The fire that broke out on Camps Bay Road on Thursday afternoon has reportedly been brought under control, according to news channel eNCA.

However, the closure of the road has nevertheless resulted in heavy traffic delays.

City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue service spokesperson Theo Layne said there had been some risk to property but firefighters battled the blaze without evacuations needing to be ordered.

A numbers of helicopters and firefighting vehicles attended to the scene throughout the afternoon.

It is not yet clear when the fire will be extinguished.

Earlier today a fire at the Holy Cross Primary School saw it evacuated. That fire was also contained.
