PICS: Local photographers shine at Ballito Photo Club awards evening
Members gathered to celebrate the winning photographs of the year, which were phenomenal to say the least.
Capturing the beauty of their surroundings using nothing but a camera and their imagination earned local photographers well deserved recognition at the annual Ballito Photo Club awards evening.
Held earlier this month at the Simbithi Country Club, members gathered to celebrate the winning photographs of the year, which were phenomenal to say the least.
With such incredible entries, it was hard to narrow down the winners, but ultimately Willie Henegan was named the senior winner, while Ian Lentz and Shelley Birnie were the joint winners of the award for the photographers who progressed the most during the year.

Pedro da Costa won the floating trophy for the most committed member of the year.
The Ballito Photo Club meet at the Simbithi Country Club on the second Tuesday of the month, with the next meeting being May 14.

Everyone is invited, and you are welcome to sit in on a number of club meetings before joining as an official member.
Members’ go through their photographs at every meeting, with guest speakers visiting throughout the year to share some handy tips.
