Proudly South African tunes at Bot Gardens

Soulful dance trio Mi Casa will bring their energetic spirit to 4 000 excited Durbanites.

The Durban Botanic Gardens will come alive once more with the sounds of top South African musical talent at the very first show in the Old Mutual Music at the Lake series for 2019.

Fans can expect a number of lively performances on Sunday, June 30, as the Old Mutual Music at the Lake series, together with East Coast Radio, pair up four great acts.

Soulful dance trio Mi Casa will bring their energetic spirit to 4 000 excited Durbanites.

They will be supported by the equally vibrant and infectiously fun Hot Water, from Cape Town, as well as local Durban singing sensation Nipho Hurd, and the uber-talented Menzi Mngoma – the Uber driver who recently shot to fame when he sang Opera for one of his passengers.

Mi Casa will be supported by the equally vibrant and infectiously fun, Hot Water.

Mi Casa’s soulful house vibes spread good energy, their dance moves pull fans to their feet and their music reaches and unites a diversity of people from different backgrounds -something that fits perfectly with Durban’s uniquely mixed audience.

Forming the band are producer, DJ and keyboardist Dr Duda; singer/songwriter J’Something; and exuberant trumpeter Mo-T.

“We are nothing without people,” said J’Something, lead singer of the band.

“All we want to do is spread good energy and make people dance. We are looking forward to growing the familia across the globe, and we are excited to bring a fresh vibe and perform our new single #TOCA for our Durban family!”

Only 4 000 tickets are available for the Mi Casa concert via www.webtickets.co.za. Standard ticket prices are R155 for adults, R100 for children between six and 12, and R20 for children under six.

Gates will open at 12.30pm, with the first act taking to the stage from 1pm. Mi Casa will perform from 3pm. Secure parking is available on the umPhafa field at the Durban Botanic Gardens.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own food, drink, blankets and camping chairs.

The next show for 2019 will be an afternoon of fun with the Old Mutual Music at the Lake Folk Fest, featuring Freshlyground, Majozi & Louise Carver on Sunday, July 28.
