Peter’s Tractors, founded on family values

With more than 35 years of consistent service, Peter’s Tractors is the go-to name for North Coast farmers for good reason.

Founded by the late Peter Rampersad in the mid-1980s, Peter’s Tractors has grown to become the household name that it is today.

“Peter was always a hard worker. He started as an apprentice then worked his way up to mechanic before becoming the owner of his own dealership. The values that he had back then are still what make Peter’s Tractors such a trusted brand,” said family friend and former colleague, Chris Wilson.

Today, Peter’s son Shakti is the owner and he has made sure to continue on with the values that his father brought to the business.

“We are serious about service. We are committed to giving support wherever needed once the tractor is out the door – the relationships with local farmers are what we value most,” he said.

Peter’s Tractors sells new Landini and McCormick tractors, while also being able to service any brand of tractor as needed.

They are ideally situated in Umhlali from where they can service the entire North Coast farming community.

“Aside from the tractor sales and maintenance, we also help macadamia farmers with machinery and sprayers.”

Built on the hard work and foresight of Peter Rampersad, Peter’s Tractors is still the best place to find your tractor solution which is evidenced by the fact that they were named the national Landini Dealer of the Year for 2020.
