Curro Salt Rock is perfectly geared for excellence
Beginning in the Pre-School and Primary School, the school focuses on the unique child, where every child is seen as a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable and confident.
Curro Salt Rock provides high-quality education to learners from 3 months old to Grade 12, with a firm focus on developing 21st-century skills.
Beginning in the Pre-School and Primary School, the school focuses on the unique child, where every child is seen as a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable and confident.
To facilitate this, a safe, fun-filled environment has been created where children can reach their full potential in different ways and at different rates through positive relationships.
As children learn from their environments, the classrooms and playgrounds act as a third teacher of sorts, thereby encouraging children to explore, play and learn.

The High School produces a community of teenagers who know how to think innovatively, express their ideas and take charge of their own lives.
Learners may choose to extend their subject choices beyond what is offered at the school by selecting from a wide range of elective subjects that are offered through live, online lessons with teachers during school hours.
The school’s small class sizes and enhanced curriculum – which includes the use of tablets in class – empower learners to grow into self-confident individuals.
The school’s ethos is governed by Christian values where learners are encouraged to explore and express their individuality within acceptable boundaries, and ultimately take responsibility for their actions.

Teachers guide their pupils to follow their hearts and minds to develop into the best individuals they can be.
Equally, Curro Salt Rock believes in the importance of finding the balance between sport, culture and academics.
This approach allows the school to instill in learners the confidence to excel on the field, on the stage and in the classroom.
Notably, the school recently invested R12-million into constructing an AstroTurf hockey field, and another R1-million in upgrading the netball courts.
One of the school’s unique offerings includes a first class robotics lab and is the proud host of the annual KZN Robotics Olympiad.
Extra curricular activities include a marimba band, science club, computer club, guitar lessons, outreach programmes, trivia and strategy board games, photography, drummies, Tots and Pots, chess, dance and E-Sports.
Meet the Executive Head – Bryn Thomas

“The goal of Curro Salt Rock is to develop responsible, independent, and proud individuals who will make a positive contribution to society.
“With more than 30 years of experience in teaching and school management, I have learnt that it is vital to make our leaners – junior and senior – understand they are seen and heard.
“This is achieved, among others, by hosting tea parties with our pre-schoolers and informal meetings with our juniors and seniors to encourage open engagement.
“I too benefit from these meetings as I am inspired by their energy and driven by their positive perspective of life.”
Meet the Head of High School – Jenny van Buuren

“At Curro, we understand that learners have unique interests and life goals. That is why our learners can enjoy personalised learning with elective subjects beyond what is offered at school.
“These subjects are presented through professional online learning and takes place during the school day.
“When Grade 9 learners choose subjects, aptitude testing is provided free of charge by our school psychologist.
“We strive to make these decisions as stress-free and as informed as possible.”
Meet the Head of Pre-school and Acting Head of Primary School – Jackie Clark

“I have a passion for children – the reason I have been an educator for 14 years.
“The challenges of the past few year as the world suddenly underwent significant changes, prompted one to look at the children we educate with renewed respect and admiration.
“They are unbelievable and taught us many things through their confidence, acceptance and adaptability to the many challenges they faced.
“It is a privilege to educate these super stars and we salute them.”
