Following up on reports of a stolen car being spotted in Ballito led police straight to an Imbali Ridge estate home where a man was found in possession of hundreds of SASSA cards.
Provincial Saps spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said local police had received information on a car stolen from the Ntuzuma area which had been spotted in Ballito.
Tracking down the car on November 11, the driver was unable to account for being in possession of the car which led police to search the property.
The 32-year-old man, Tumbikani Mzamara was arrested after police found more than 700 SASSA cards, from which Mzamara allegedly withdrew just shy of R190 000 from between August last year and July this year.
