KwaDukuza security guard critical after being shot by robbers

The robbers thought he was carrying cash in a bag, but it only contained his personal items.

A security guard was shot and critically injured during an armed robbery in KwaDukuza late this afternoon.

According to Dylan Meyrick of IPSS Medical Rescue, the wounded guard was rushed to a hospital in Durban.

“Reports suggest the guard was shot when he walked out of a pharmacy carrying a bag, which the robbers thought contained cash from the pharmacy.”

“However, it only had his personal items,” said Meyrick.

KwaDukuza police are investigating, but could not be reached to confirm details of the incident at this time.
