Catering for canines
Despite the difficulty in finding pet friendly accommodation in Ballito, two local restaurants ensure there are are some perks for pet lovers in town.

Milk Café and the Galley Beach Bar and Grill are two restaurants across the road from each other at the bottom of Compensation Drive which cater for pets and are both owned by pet lovers.
Milk Café owner Roan de Beer welcomes pets and has water and food bowls ready for thirsty hounds that come strolling off the beach with their owners.

“I’ve never seen so many pets as in Ballito,” said de Beer, “I can’t believe it is an unfriendly pet town, people here love pets!”
The Galley Beach Bar and Grill has developed a special menu for dogs called ‘Canine Cuisine’, with dishes such as the ‘paw-some snack’ and ‘chicken a la pooch’, and owner Mark van Staden said the big bowl of water outside the front door is always a favourite meeting place for dogs.
Next time you find yourself out on the town with your pet, stop by for a snack at one of these pet friendly restaurants.
