Police appealing to community to help with investigation

Man believed to help investigation of robberies in KwaDukuza.

The Durban Organised Crime Unit is appealing to the community to assist them in order to locate a man (in the photo) believed to be able to help in the investigation that follows a spate of robberies that happened mainly in and around KwaDukuza.

In one of the incidents a group of men entered Sanath liquor store on December 31 last year and took an undisclosed amount of cash and alcohol.

It is alleged that the suspects used bolt cutters and explosives to get into the safe.

A similar incident took place in April at around 8.30pm when they broke into Manor liquors.

The group entered the safe, taking expensive whiskey, a shot gun, two cell phones and also stole a Kia Picanto.

Police believe the group is scattered in KwaDukuza, Maphumulo and North Coastal areas of KwaZulu-Natal.

Their modus operandi involves taxi violence related murders, business robberies, ATM bombings and other cases.

The group is said to be highly dangerous, armed with automatic rifles including AK 47, R5’s, 9mm pistols as well as explosives.
