South Africans take to Twitter over currency woes
What is #StrongerthatheRand? Pretty much everything according to South African tweets.
Even when South Africa’s currency has weakened to the lowest point since 2011, South Africans still has a sense of humour.
It did not take long for someone to create the hashtag #StrongerthantheRand on Twitter and soon it was at the top of the trending topics.
The Rand was just over R13 to the dollar, over R15 to the Euro and around R20 to the Pound.
Not the best time to plan that overseas holiday!
