Stikeez toys – friend or foe?

'Free' toys a brilliant marketing gimmick.

There has been a lot of discussion about Pick ‘n Pay’s little rubber toys called Stikeez.

Shoppers receive a Stikeez whenever they spend R150 and at first it was fun and a real treat for the kids.

But parents have been complaining that it has caused many a headache with screaming children, forcing them to shop at the retailer and buying more than they budgeted for.

There are 24 to collect, which means parents will have to spend R3600 to collect them all and that still does not mean you will get 24 different Stikeez.

The real winner in this situation seems to be Pick ‘n Pay, while parents are left dealing with a few grumpy children.
