SUV stolen at Thompson’s Bay

The owners keys were stolen while she was swimming.

A Ballito woman was the victim of car theft this morning, when her silver Nissan X-Trail was stolen from its parking space at Thompson’s Bay beach.
At 7am this morning, the woman went down to the seafront for a swim, and upon returning to the site of her belongings, saw that her car keys were missing, according to reports from Viva Security’s JP Viljoun.
When the woman returned to the parking lot, her vehicle was also missing.
“The owner of the X-Trail did say that she had seen a suspicious guy hanging around the parking lot as she arrived, but she did not think anything of it,” said Viljoun, who, along with his team, responded to the incident.
The stolen SUV has an NT registration and a case has been opened at Umhlali police station by the owner.
The vehicle does not, however, have an in-built tracking device, so physical sightings can be called in to Viljoun at Viva Security on 081 899 8456.
