Body found in Mount Moreland cane fields

A plastic bag was found over his head and his face was duct taped several times.

The body of an unidentified white male was found by members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) near a banana plantation in Mount Moreland at approx 5.45am this morning.

A passerby had contacted the RUSA Operations Center in Verulam and reported that a “suspicious vehicle” had been spotted and requested them to check it out.

The Reaction Officers found the grey Audi with a GP registration parked on a dirt road with the body of a white male, believed to be in his fifties, seated in the drivers seat.

A plastic bag was found over his head and his face was duct taped several times.

A roll of duct tape was found hanging from his head.

RUSA Paramedics confirmed that the man was deceased. The man’s identity is currently unknown.

Verulam SAPS are investigating the death.
