Hazelmere Dam has risen by six percent so far this month, thanks to relatively good rain around the catchment area.
However, at 31.38%, the dam is still critically low.
Only once the dam reaches 60 percent, Umgeni Water regards it as an acceptable level.
A mobile application called “The Dam App” has been created and is available on Android and Apple.
The app gives a weekly update of the dam level as per information received from the department of water and sanitation.
