Beach-goers die in horror accident on R102
A bakkie carrying 16 people landed on its roof, leaving passengers strewn all over the road.
A day of fun at the beach ended in horror when a bakkie carrying 16 people towards Groutville rolled on the R102 at Stanger on Monday morning.
Paul Herbst from IPSS Medical Rescue said the driver lost control around a bend, causing the car to roll.
People were flung from the car and left strewn all over the road, leaving the paramedics and police a grim mess to clean up.
“Three people died and thirteen were transported to Stanger Hospital, eight with minor and five with major injuries,” said Herbst.
It is not known which beach the group visited.
