A seven-year-old girl was hit by a car on the M4 highway near Beach Bums in Westbrook on Saturday afternoon, January 2.
IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst said she is in a critical condition.
“Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise the girl, and she was quickly placed on a ventilator and intubated until the Air Mercy helicopter arrived to take her to hospital,” said Herbst.
She was taken to King Edward hospital.
A section of the M4 near Beach Bums between Westbrook and La Mercy was closed but has since been reopened.
