It was heartwarming to see Busisiwe Mazeka smiling and praising the North Coast residents who came to her aid with not one but two wheelchairs in hand.
Last week the Courier told readers about the 63-year-old Mazeka from Nkobongo who lost her foot after she stepped into a nail in Ndwedwe last year.
Mazeka was in desperate need of a wheelchair.
Jean Tshipeng from Palm Lakes Estate and Sarika Lochan from Shakaskraal immediately jumped to help and each donated a wheelchair for her.
Lochan said her family donated the wheelchair in memory of their father Mohan Bisambar.
Mazeka was overcome with joy about her new wheels.
“Thank you so much and I pray that God bless them for what they have done for me,” said Mazeka.
Nkobongo traditional leader New Mlondo said she received many calls from residents offering to help Mazeka and thanked everyone for their compassion.
