Five people were injured, including two children, in a head on collision on the N2 near Tongaat on Friday evening.
A car was traveling on the N2 north near King Shaka International airport when it lost control and hit the centre median.
IPSS Medical Rescue’s Ajith Gareeb said the car was airborne for about 10 metres before it collided head on with a bakkie traveling on the N2 south.
“The driver of the car was intubated by advanced life support and was in a critical condition.”
A family of four were traveling in the other vehicle on the N2 south.
The mother, father and one child suffered moderate injuries while another child suffered critical injuries. They were transported to Victoria Hospital.
