The N2 at Groutville is now open.
KwaDukuza SAPS acting station commander, Mdumseni Nene said the protesters have left and traffic is easing.
“But we are staying around in case they return,” he said.
The protest started at about 5.30am this morning over the delay in the area’s RDP housing project.
