Teen drowns in Shakaskraal dam
A swim at the Shakaskraal dam ends in tragic drowning.
A girl aged 14 to 15 years has drowned in a dam in Shakaskraal.
She was a grade seven pupil of Shakaskraal SA Primary school.
Apparently she left home for school with her friend and for an unknown reason decided to go for a swim at the dam near her school.
“Children often bunk school to go and swim at the dam. Especially when it is hot,” said Specialised Rescue’s Quentin Power
The girl’s body has been removed from the dam by the Specialised Rescue Unit.
