Enriching community life are the many clubs and societies. We’ll be giving you the lowdown on the clubs and societies in the Ballito area to inspire you to join, participate and meet new people.

Everyone has a story to tell. Why not join the Ballito Writers’ Club, hone your writing skills and share your tales?

If you have been wondering how you can improve your writing or you fancy yourself a budding author; or you are an author and need some new inspiration, the Ballito Writers’ Club is your answer.

Who are they?

A group of passionate writers, who have been meeting for the past decade to share ideas. Some members have published works while others are striving towards that goal.

What do they do?

They listen and swop writing ideas with speakers.  Members share and discuss writing techniques, word pictures, and try a variety of new styles.

Why do they meet?

To get their creative, word juices flowing.

When do they meet?

They meet once a month on the last Thursday from 10am to 12pm usually.

Where do they meet?

The Salt Rock Country Club. The club charges no fees and tea, coffee and eats can be enjoyed after the meeting.

Aspiring writers of any age are welcome and member, Rita van Wetten said they would love more young people to join them, as beneath the rich and shiny hair colouring, the present membership is predominantly grey.
